The full STOTT PILATES® repertoire contains level 1 (Intensive) and level 2 (Advanced) courses, as well as Functional Anatomy and Injuries & Special Populations courses, and Practice Fitness offers all of these. Click on the titles below for full course suggestions.
General Course Objectives:
The Intensive Program (Level 1) is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, or those who have completed the Functional Anatomy course and have met the Pilates experience requirements. The focus is on expanding student’s current knowledge while delivering complete instruction in STOTT PILATES® principles and Essential and Intermediate exercises in a fast-paced format.
The programs provide a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire. After completing any of these programs students will be prepared to teach the entire Essential and Intermediate repertoires.
The 40 hour IMP course provides instructors with the foundation and skills needed to develop effective and motivating personal training programs. Some group programming skills will also be covered.
This 50 hour course teaches students how to design and instruct essential and Intermediate reformer workouts in personal settings for a range of clients. Some group programming on the reformer is also covered.
The Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrel courses are now taught as separate modules for your convenience (see below) but you can save on course tuition and materials by bundling all three together.
ICAD prepares you to teach Essential and Intermediate exercises on the Cadillac Trapeze Table. By the end of this 25 hour course you will be able to fine-tune personal and circuit training programs to meet a variety of clients’ conditioning goals with 125 different exercises.
ICHR prepares you to teach Essential and Intermediate exercises on the Split-Pedal Stability Chair. By the end of this 15 hour course you will be able to fine-tune personal and circuit training programs to meet a variety of clients’ conditioning goals with 63 different exercises.
IBRL prepares you to teach Level 1 exercises on the Arc Barrel, Spine Corrector and Ladder Barrel. By the end of this 10 hour course you will be able to fine-tune personal and circuit training programs to meet a variety of clients’ conditioning goals with 98 different exercises.
The Advanced (Level 2) program begins with a review of relevant Essential and Intermediate exercises. Students will learn to apply STOTT PILATES® biomechanical principles to exercises that require a higher degree of strength, balance and coordination.
These courses can be taken immediately after the corresponding Level 1 course or as a series of courses. Prerequisites: The advanced courses can be taken immediately after the corresponding Level 1 course.
This 6-hour course held over one-day, progresses to Matwork to more advanced material, providing further options and challenges on the mat for highly conditioned clients.
Learn to use the various Reformer components and accessories to intensify reformer repertoire and provide a stimulating workout for athletes, dancers, and highly conditioned clients.
Like with the ICCB, the Advanced Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrel courses are now taught as separate modules for your convenience (see below) but you can save on course tuition by bundling all three together.
This 6 hour course held over one-day prepares you to teach 28 Advanced level exercises plus modifications using the Cadillac for the highly conditioned client.
This 3 hour course held over one-day provides you with 14 Advanced Stability Chair exercises plus modifications that will place demands on the body in different planes of motion for the highly conditioned client.
This 3 hour course held over one-day equips you with 14 Advanced level exercises plus modifications using the Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel for the highly conditioned client.
The Functional Anatomy course is geared toward students needing to refresh their knowledge in anatomy or for students who are required to fulfill the anatomy prerequisite before entering the Intensive Program.
This course builds on your STOTT PILATES® knowledge. It will teach you to customize workouts to address weaknesses, health conditions, postural problems or injuries of your clients.
